Module 7

Architecture: The Science of Design 

 The idea of architecture is very interesting.  To be seen as an art and science is something very cool.  It is a foundation to everything we see on a day to day basis. Architects take a lot of time to create the buildings we live in, the bridges we drive over, and the monuments that are admired today.  They help create structured things that can withstand extreme conditions.  This video demonstrates the time, effort, and knowledge that it takes to make these things, and it also shows the materials that are used in todays architecture.  I enjoyed this video and thought it went well with chapter 13.  The book talked more in details about the structure while the video gave examples of structure of buildings but not as much as the book.

Last Call for Planet Earth: Sustainable Development and Architecture 
This video talks about a common issue that is considered very important in modern day society. Everything is about taking the world more sustainable and eco friendly.  They look into what are the best methods to create these things and take the time to make sure they are doing right for the environment.

Both videos were filled with lots of information that was very helpful in understanding how architecture works.  They gave great visuals to the readings from the textbook.  I do with the videos were updated though or maybe eve a little shorter so it wasn't as hard to pay attention.

Module 15 - Guernica

1- Taking my first glance at The Guernica, it was really hard to understand what was even happening. This oil painting is considered to be a moral with many different tortuous images created in it.  There's many elements and principals tat were brought to this piece such as; line, shape, form, value, and movement.  Looking at this picture my eyes dart from one place to another. there is no one thing that draws the attention. 2- The Guernica was made in 1937 by Picasso. This piece was created around the Civil War time period which makes sense because it seems as if the painting was a testimony of war. 3-  The painting was create in a time filled with war, death, and a lot of chaos. Picasso uses symbolism to express this time period. The painting is crazy, it's filled with shapes and forms which make the people and animals. Module 8

More Human than Human  I enjoyed this video and found it very interesting. This video shows how art from our past effects the world as we know it today. He seemed to really focus on art throughout many years. My favorite quote from this video was "We will see how us humans made art but also how art made us humans."  I also enjoyed when he started to converse about the way we view each other and how the brain effects the way we view ourselves.  He also said that the way we see art is not realistic, and mentioned that art we see of human bodies doesn't look the way we think it should/would.
