Uncertainty: Modernity Art I picked this video because it seemed like it would be an interesting topic to learn about. I have never really heard of Modernity Art before. Art has changed throughout the years. 20th Century art put more action on negative emotions such as chaos, anxiety, and uncertainty.   The piece in the video was created by Pablo Picasso. Picasso focused on the contrast while Paul Klee worked on the abstract, and Piet Mondrian and the artitecture of Le Corbusier. Modern life's relationship with modern art helped make changes to art expressionism.  It also changed Pop at. It is very clear the way that art has changed throughout time just by looking into art down the time line.  This video goes into more than the text did. The Gallery 1. There were spotlights on everything. Each work had its own shine in the glory look to it. 2. The walls were a white creamy color. 3. The materials used on the inside were picture frames and shelves to hold up the work. 4. It as very spaced out and no one was crowded together looking at art. The Artwork 1. The artwork is organized by artist. Each artist had their group of work together in the halls. 2. The art all connected depending on the artist. All their pieces seem to work together in some way but also were completely different at the same time. 3. The art was different because of the way they were designed or the materials used. Each piece had it's own meaning. 4. Some art hangs up while others were on platforms. 5.  The art was identified by little blocks next to the art with the artist name, art name, and date. 6. Expressionism- This is a type of artistic style where artist seek the subjective emotions and responses that certain objects and different events bring out in a person.  Artist normally create this type of art through distortion, exaggeration, and fantasy.  Expressionism started to become more noticeable in the 19th century.  This was because this type of art allowed a lot of people to express themselves in ways they couldn't before. I chose this video because I have heard about expressionism before and actually had an Idea of the concept.  I thought the video was dry but I learned some cool stuff that I didn't know before. I  chose these masks because I liked the way line was used. I loved the shape and the way they came together to create the work. The elements/principals I used were color, shape, line, texture. I enjoyed adding in the different lines. To create the 3D emphasis, I used fake nails (weird, I know.) I came up the idea because of the way African art uses the human body as a way to create art. I thought it fit. I liked my finished mask. I'm not the best with this stuff so it isn't the prettiest but I think I understood the concept at hand.

Hinduism Art: This type of art gives insight through architecture and art of India. Hindu temple  architecture is a style that is driven by symmetry. The  certain designs that are put into this artwork have structure that influence geometric shapes. Architecture is an important part of the Hindu culture. There are large temples that show beauty in the way they were made. It is common when looking at Hindu art that figures will have extra parts like arms or legs. This is made to show off the extra power that god has. African Art In Sub- Saharan African villages traditions occurred that were strong and the art was important to their daily lives. African art places a huge emphasis on symbolism, aesthetics and the funtionality of the art. Their art includes; sculptures, masks, artitecture,ornaments, and also clothing. 1)  It was hard to use my hand as a subject to draw. I'm not good at drawing to begin with but it was definitely challenging. 2) Pencil. I enjoy using pencil because it isn't as dirty and messy. 3) Embarrassed. I mean, look at that picture. It's a rough set of hands. 4) The studies are successful. It was a struggle and drawing with my left hand definitely shows that. 5) NO WAY. lol

The Drawing of Michelangelo  Michelangelo made art for most of his life but most his drawings were destroyed.  He was a talented artist and his skills were more than just drawing skills. He took pride in his skills but, he also held himself to higher standards when it came to his art.  He made complex pieces that were very beautiful but he even had some unfinished sketches that were incredible as well. Leonardo da Vinci: The Mind of The Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci is known as the renaissance man, he was able to put scientific methods to his art and also music. He made expressive and beautiful artwork, and was able to make inventions that were known as ground breaking during the time. He was quick and keen to let his mind wander and make these discoveries.
